Another Crafty Ho Challenge...YEAH BABY!

Hey there! It's 6 am and I'm just sitting here to type up my post for my Crafty Ho Challenge card. Excuse me if I'm more than a bit silly and punchy at this point (That's an excuse...she's always nuts!!)! {Note to self: Smother the devil on left shoulder!}

Anywho... I made the card below using a new image from KAH-wink-E-dink! This is a WAAAAAAAY outside the box project for me, but I have to admit, I'm delighted with the way it turned out! (oh yeah thatta girl!) {Note to self: devil on left shoulder is a sarcastic turd!}

The Gothic Butterfly was a unique addition to the Crafty Ho Challenge to use fantabulous flourishes, lush ribbon, and sparkly bling! I thought it was an interesting contrast to use 'hard' and 'soft' elements together, so I balanced the tattered and torn vellum with a mesh-like ribbon, sewn on wired beading, along with the fancy border and teardrop rhinestones. I also used the pretty, soft pink, with the dark, harsher black to echo this idea. Pretty Goth/Emo hmm? (As if she knows what the heck that is!) {Be quiet or I'll let that Butterfly get you!} (ooh. so scared.) {Sigh...I'm going to bed now!}

This card is apropro for and has been entered into the following challenges:

(Distressing)
(Anything Goes)
(Over the Edge)
(Use a Border Punch)
(Sewing - Beaded wired is sewn onto ribbon and card)
(Color Challenge)
(Round and Round - DP skeletons/bones are in circles)
(Sticks and Stones ... I used Rhinestones and uh...bones! :p)
(Anything Goes + Use a BUTTERFLY)
(Wings, Pink, Petals - 'petals' are on black roses in the flourishes)

  4. Hi Yvonne. Love the color and layout and look of your card. Didn't actually 'see' the butterfly until I read your post which made me look again. Still like it though I'm about as goth as my grandmother. NOT :) Anyway, just wanted to let you know you had won the challenge at Just Scraps last week and if you email me at justscraps.ca@gmail.com with your pattern choice from www.paperandpiecings.com I'll email it to you right away. Have a great day! Many thanks for playing along! Jean
