Wednesday Tutorial for Bugaboo Stamps

With the holidays almost upon us, I have so much to do lately that my head is spinning trying to keep up! There are just certain things for all of us are 'MUSTS' for the holiday season though, so you always find a way to make the time to do it! For example, one of the things we've always prided ourselves on, is our homemade holiday cookies, candies and treats.

In our family, it is traditional for our family to make literally thousands of homemade cookies to share and give away as gifts every Christmas. Times are tight though now, and we have had to cut back quite a bit. Thus, we are keen on finding alternative ways to save money on some things, so we can continue to share what we are so lucky to have while enjoying the holiday!

That said, I have decided to re-purpose whatever packaging supplies we can and use what we already have to package up many of our other gifts. Most people will appreciate the thought we've put into our gifts and will be happy to sip and munch on their delicious bounty no matter what the packaging! So my tutorial today for Bugaboo Stamps is on RE-using and packaging treats for gifting!

So here is what I started with:

Each different container can be altered to reuse with beautiful results! (See I've already begun with the Red Bull bottle!) I remove all of the labels and sanitize each container first. Then I measure the label area and cut designer paper to fit.  I glue each label band in place, and fill the container with the desired treat.

Then I color and use my Nesties and punches to cut my images to fit the lids and label spaces. I embellish with Ribbon, Buttons, etc. and they are ready to go! Here are two of the finished products. The smaller bottles I am packaging in 'Six-Packs', each with a different flavored treat!

These two containers have been filled with my Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix. The recipe I used to fill my containers above I've shared below! Be sure to come back throughout the week to see what I've done with the rest of the containers shown above!
Scrappy’s Hot Chocolate Mix

2 cups nonfat dry milk powder
3/4 cup superfine sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup good quality chocolate finely chopped
1/2 cup powdered creamer (flavored if desired)
1/8 teaspoon salt

Pulse all ingredients quickly in food processor and package as desired. Be sure to tell recipients to
use 4 heaping tablespoons per cup of boiling water. Including the recipe is also always welcome!
